"Oh sure, there's a crime, so you automatically blame the criminal. You're profiling me here!"
~Pancho [source]

Pancho is a recurring character from All Hail King Julien and a supporting character in All Hail King Julien: Exiled.

Personality[]

Pancho is an over-reactor (according to himself), is sometimes obnoxious, and has a bit of a temper. He will show bravery at times, such as when he backed up Ted when everyone was threatened by Fred the scorpion, and the other times he verbally stood up to bullying characters. He is shown to have a lack of guilt and criminal aptitude throughout the series and doesn't always commit crimes alone. Pancho is also sometimes easy to fool, shown when Mort asked him to whisper Ted and Dorothy's names into his diaper, which, unbeknownst to Pancho, had a recorder machine in it. Pancho is a ladies-man, as he very much enjoyed Siren Island because of the sirens, but he ended up getting a number of aggressive restraining orders. Xixi had even mentioned on her show that Pancho had been seen "canoodling with a new mystery lady". Pancho has also been married twice. Pancho has no memory of whether or not he had a family, because Uncle King Julien erased his and other agents' memories for The Footstool Program. Uncle King Julien forced them to become trained killers, their target King Julien. Pancho however, for some reason, was never killed along with the other agents when Uncle Julien grew bored with the program. During his hypnotic state partially caused by Uncle Julien, he believes that the designs on a gunny sack are his family. Though he seems to care more or less for the other citizens, he takes pleasure in and shows no remorse in stealing, attempted extortion, scamming, and even crimes of a violent nature. Currently, Pancho seems to have the closest relationship with is his energetic, charismatic partner-in-crime, Andy Fairfax, who isn't a lemur but a flying fox bat.

Operation Footstool/The Footstool Program/ The Panchurian Candidate[]

"...I mean, like, everything in my brain is telling me to kill you...
Julien is bad, Julien is bad! Do as you were trained. Kill Julien. Pancho, Do it.

When Uncle King Julien created Operation Footstool, he brainwashed random lemurs. Pancho happened to be one of the victims, and was left with no memory of his past.

Pancho being activated by the Killer Tunes tape.

In the episode The Panchurian Candidate, King Julien played the Killer Tunes tape he found in Amelia's skull. When King Julien played the mixtape, he activated Pancho, making him a threat to the kingdom. When Pancho kidnapped King Julien, he asked for assistance. He wanted to know about his family and his past.

When King Julien took him to his family home, Pancho realized he didn't have a family, and he freaked out. At that moment, Uncle King Julien arrived and ordered Pancho to activate The Final Protocol.

The words: ā€œFontanelle Ellipsis Shmearā€ trigger the final protocol in Pancho. When triggered, he attempts to blow up the kingdom. Julien stops and successfully deactivates him after telling him that the destruction of the kingdom will result in the destruction of his home and family. In the Exiled episode ā€œIron Ted Weekendā€, Julien attempts to activate him when they are captured by lemur sirens. However, he forgets the right words, and Julien looks at him accusingly he states that he can't just trigger himself, and that he's "not that kind of guy".

Relationships[]

King Julien: After the events of The Panchurian Candidate, Pancho becomes more loyal to his King and friend, actively involving himself in King Julien's exploits. They seem to get along well overall, and Pancho is quick to offer his assistance and input in his schemes.

Sharon: Pancho's relationship with Sharon was unknown, but it did end in divorce. She is only ever seen during her wedding with Pancho. She did seem to care about him, as she loudly screamed when Clover punched Pancho after thinking he had a knife.

Unnamed second wife: Her name is unknown, but she and Pancho were shown getting married as King Julien ate their cake. She was shown again when King Julien apologized to them for eating their cake.

Willie: Willie is sometimes seen spending time with Pancho and Horst. Willie once told Pancho that he wasn't overreacting when he heard a scream. Pancho once used Willie's name as a synonymous term for being a panicker. He said, "I hate to be a Willie..."

Horst: Horst is sometimes seen hanging out with Pancho and Willie.

Andy Fairfax: He is Pancho's partner-in-crime and friend. He is a smooth-talking and charismatic bat.

Maurice: Since assisting the king more frequently, Pancho spends more time with Maurice as well. Pancho often teases or jokes with Maurice, though when stating "We're all friends, right?", Maurice claims "nobody likes youā€! This didn't appear to upset him however, as he affectionately calls him an "old grizzly bear" after. Something similar happens again in "The End is Near".
