The Rat Kingdom is a sovereign kingdom located on the island of Madagascar. The kingdom is inhabited by the majority of the island's rats, and is led by King Joey.
History[]
Formation of the Rat Kingdom[]
The rats were previously nationless animals living in the jungle. Most of them worked for Karl to make a living, as coffee farmers at his coffee plantation. After Karl's coffee industry was destroyed, they went unemployed and unorganised, before they decided to form a new kingdom for their kind.
Led by King Joey, the kingdom started in a mess, and so they sought the expertise of Maurice, appointing him as the royal advisor to King Joey, after seeing the success of the Kingdom of Madagascar. The rats managed to set up watering systems and build multiple mazes after their kingdom's formation.
King Joey's era[]
The kingdom did its best during the reign of King Joey. With not much competition, they constructed multiple mazes around the kingdom.
The Rat Kingdom also took part in a few wars on the island, namely the Butterfly War and the War of the Beasts. During the Butterfly War, the rats allied with the Kingdom of Madagascar, and supplied a maze which was used to capture the Crocodile Ambassador.
They also played a major role in the War of the Beasts, as they were among the major kingdoms to be attacked and occupied by the Mountain Lemur Kingdom. The rat army fought when the mountain lemurs attacked the Kingdom of Madagascar, as well as during the Battle of Booty Ridge and the final battle.
The rats also excelled in sports, having won the 64th Every-So-Often Jungle Games, with 132 points. This was compared to the Kingdom of Madagascar and Feartopia's 10 points.
Kingdom Culture[]
The rats aren't the brightest critters of the kingdom. They seem to have a thing for mazes, probably to train their navigation memory. They sometimes hate themselves when they suggest stupid ideas and often slap themselves and eachother.
Diplomatic relations[]
Kingdom of Madagascar[]
The Rat Kingdom has always been friendly with the Kingdom of Madagascar, and vice versa. With their formation being made possible with the help of the lemur kingdom, they always remained allies through situations such as wars and conflict.
King Joey offered a maze boat to transport all the animals on the island to safety when the island was presumed to be sinking, and they aided the lemur kingdom during both the Butterfly War and the War of the Beasts.
