"Go die alone in the jungle!"- stated by King Julien talking about his exiles in Viva Mort
Uncle King Julien (AKA King Julien XII) is the main antagonist of the series and his nephew's own story, All Hail King Julien, and the secondary antagonist of All Hail King Julien: Exiled. He is rude, dishonest, obnoxious, evil, lazy, sarcastic, deceiving, selfish, vain, cowardly and idiotic.
Towards the end of the series, Uncle King Julien gives up on taking the throne back, because he falls in love with Zora and wants to run away together with her. King Julien pardons them both and allows them to marry and live a happy life together. This explains why he didn't try to take the throne back from Julien XIII when he, Maurice and Mort left Madagascar for good in the second movie.
Bio[]
King Julien XII is a ring-tailed lemur who is the maternal uncle of King Julien XIII. He kept the lemurs in soul-crushing silence in order to avoid fossa attacks. When Masikura tells him that "the one who holds the crown will be eaten by the fossa", he gives up his crown to Julien so that he won't be eaten. According to Masikura and King Julien, he never apologized and everyone was afraid to stand up to him, and anyone who was brave enough he banished. When King Julien XIII thrived as king, his devious uncle did any conniving thing he can to regain the throne. Unlike his nephew, he never allowed parties, or nosiness of any kind. He preached the necessity of total silence.
Physical Appearance[]
He looks very similar to his nephew, but he is obese and has unkept toenails (which is confirmed by his nephew and Mort). As his nephew looks younger, he is aged into an angry old man with gray eyebrows and fur.
Personality[]
He is rude, dishonest, obnoxious, evil, lazy, sarcastic, deceiving, selfish, vain, cowardly and idiotic. In King Julien is Watching You, after seeing Zora, he decides to let go of his evil plans and live in a new leaf. He also appears in The End is Here, as a guest at Clover and Sage's wedding, indicating that he has finally changed.
Relationships[]
King Julien XIII[]
King Julien XIII used to think well of his uncle and remembered him fondly when he left, but completely lost his positive perception of him after he and his kingdom were captured in "The Man in The Iron Booty". Ever since, Julien was determined to stop his uncle from taking back the throne and plunging Madagascar into silence and fear once again. When Uncle King Julien tried to recapture the kingdom by having Julien put everyone in jail, he saw Mort's ex-mate, Zora, and fell in love with her. He then decided to give up his evil ways and move to Feartopia with Zora.
Clover[]
During the time Clover was his bodyguard, Uncle King Julien made a series of laws that Clover found unjust, but was unable to object for he forbade her to speak, saying her paranoia gave him gas. Being his bodyguard, Clover experienced horrific things, including the deaths of many lemurs in the Footstool Program, a program first revealed in The Panchurian Candidate. In the episode Eye of the Clover, Uncle King Julien posed as a mysterious rattlesnake patron behind a shoji screen and ordered the crocodiles to invite Clover to the Tournament of the Doomed with hopes to get rid of her. He described her as "a thorn in his side" every time he tried to reclaim the throne. Even though the two never got along, he seemed to know Clover's interest in rules very well, clearly thinking out his plan in King Julien is Watching You, knowing that she would end up imprisoning the entire kingdom soon enough due to her excessive paranoia.
Crimson[]
During their alliance, which started in "Crimson and Clover", Crimson acted as Uncle King Julien’s muscle, rescuing him from prison and capturing his nephew for him, as shown in “The Man in The Iron Booty” and “King Juli-END?”. After that, Crimson joined his team in “Jungle Games” and competed for his team. Their alliance ended in the “Eye of the Clover” when Crimson helped Clover win the Tournament of the Doomed.
Maurice[]
He knows Maurice as his nephew's caretaker. Maurice was the second to find out Uncle King Julien's true colors. Uncle King Julien also enjoys teasing him as it was seen in Night Creatures.
Pancho[]
According to Clover in The Panchurian Candidate, he brainwashed Pancho so that he couldn't remember where he came from.
Zora[]
In King Julien is Watching You, he fell in love with Zora after writing her love letters.
