[1st November, 2018]

It's now officially November, where 10 years ago, the first episode ever of The Penguins of Madagascar was premiered for the first time on Nickelodeon. The Madagascar Wiki will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of this brilliant show throughout the entire month of November, as multiple events and a bunch of other things will be announced and released for the entire community, so be sure to stay tuned for more news!

Madagascar Wiki's URL has been migrated

[18th October, 2018]

Madagascar Wiki has officially been migrated to its new URL, from madagascar.wikia.com, to madagascar.fandom.com. You will still be able to access the Madagascar Wiki via its old URL, as the FANDOM Staff have prepared a redirect system, but it is encouraged to use our new official URL.

You can learn more about it by reading FANDOM Staff, Brandon Rhea's blog post regarding this matter here.

URL Migration Notice

[6th October, 2018]

Over the next few weeks, the FANDOM Team will be migrating several initial communities from Wikia.com domains to Fandom.com, which includes the Madagascar Wiki. This means that in the near future, you will need to go to madagascar.fandom.com to access the Madagascar Wiki instead of the current URL. One of the purpose of this migration is so that all community domains may use HTTPS, to offer improved security for all of the Wiki users.

You can learn more about it by reading FANDOM Staff, Brandon Rhea's blog post regarding this matter here.

A Note from the Wiki Administration

[3rd September, 2018]

Greetings. Following the recent mass vandalism incident, the Supreme Council of the Madagascar Wiki has discussed on this matter to find a solution to this mess. The council has unanimously decided that one of the only ways to settle this is to declare a state of emergency on this Wiki. This means that during the duration of emergency, any sort of suspicious acts from any user on the Wiki may result to an immediate permanent block. This is so we will be able to control the situation easier while we let this whole thing cool down. However, if you happen to be one of those who just happen to be innocently editing on the Wiki and has no sort of negative intention, you may post on your message wall requesting for your account to be unblocked. Our intention is to keep this Wiki as clean as possible and away from nasty vandalism so that our readers may peacefully read through the Wiki and find whatever information they need without needing to go through any sort of unrelated and sometimes inappropriate content.

All the best,
The Madagascar Wiki Administration.

MADAGASCAR: A LITTLE WILD

[20th July, 2018]

This isn't a joke. Once again, our friend from the Kung Fu Panda Wiki, Spottedstar, reached out to us and informed about DreamWorks' trademark applications, that currently list a new Madagascar title, "Madagascar: A Little Wild". Currently, we have zero information on this other than this title. But the core members of the fandom speculate this to either be a movie or a series, and this isn't a surprise as Tom McGrath did mention last year, that they are working on something related to Madagascar. More updates will come once information is received.

New Wiki Wordmark!

[4th June, 2018]

Our friend, Spottedstar from the Kung Fu Panda Wiki recently helped us design and make the new wordmark for the Madagascar Wiki, featuring a better and cleaner look, with the word Wiki looking more similar to Madagascar's logo using a custom-made font. With the new wordmark ready and installed onto the Wiki, we will gradually update any other parts of the site that still uses the old wordmark. The Madagascar community would love to thank Spottedstar for the brilliant new wordmark for Madagascar Wiki!

June 2018 Grand Design Revamp

[3rd June, 2018]

In conjunction with Madagascar's 13th anniversary, the Madagascar Wiki Crew dug deep into their old brain pan and came up with a new refined look for the Wiki. Instead of the old blue colour from when it was The Penguins of Madagascar Wiki, before it was converted to Madagascar Wiki, the Wiki's main colour is not yellow and green, reflecting the colour of the sandy beaches and the green trees of Madagascar. The blue still makes an appearance as a resemblance to TPoM, with the blue background, as well as blue tabs. All Hail King Julien's theme colour, green, can also be seen with the header and link text being green instead of the previous blue. If you have any opinions on the new design, please give your feedback on it over here.

Celebrating the 13th Anniversary of Madagascar!

[24th May, 2018]

Madagascar will soon be 13 years old on the 27th of May 2018! We are very happy to make it this far for this long, and still live with the spinoff series All Hail King Julien just ending five months ago, and a followup movie is suspected to be announced soon. This year also marks the 10th anniversary of The Penguins of Madagascar, which will be celebrated on the 29th of November this year.

Crafting Glory Together for Madagascar

[25th April, 2018]

As the franchise grow bigger and bigger, the Madagascar franchise is expected to get a new movie announced by the end of 2020. After All Hail King Julien ended with its seamless and perfect finale December last year, and its 7 nominations in the 45th Daytime Emmy Awards, most people think that the next movie shall be a lemurs-focused movie, much like the Penguins of Madagascar movie. Madagascar 4 was scheduled to be released in May this year, before being cancelled some time after that; but creator of the franchise and voice of Skipper, Tom McGrath said, in April last year that "there are things in the works". Nonetheless, people are always ready for a new movie for the franchise; and Zoo Overlord of the Wiki, Brendan, said that the Wiki must always be prepared for this potential new major faction of the fandom. He said "the franchise does not only depend on its creators, but more to its fandom; the fans are the ones who can keep the franchise alive, and if the new movie is coming, we must prepare everything for its arrival, and one of them is to clean up the Wiki. The Wiki after a few years of being abandoned had been lacking a lot of things. A lot of important pages are just merely a few sentences with an infobox with a low quality image and missing information; and we don't want that. The reason why I took over the Wiki is to recover the damage from when it was dead, and clean it up so that when people come to our Wiki, they shall know that we are not just a simple fandom. We need to craft with our bare hands the glory for the fandom and franchise together". He added that a series of new features and unique additions will soon come to the Wiki, and by 2020 the Wiki should reach a certain point far beyond what we expect.

AHKJ: Exiled Wins 2 Daytime Emmy Awards!

[28th April, 2018]

All Hail King Julien: Exiled was recently announced as winners for the Outstanding Sound Editing - Animation, and Outstanding Sound Mixing - Animation categories of the 45th Daytime Emmy Awards. The original All Hail King Julien were also nominated in both categories, but its Exiled special prevailed. This is the second best that All Hail King Julien has ever made in the Daytime Emmy Awards, after 2015's 42nd Daytime Emmy Awards where All Hail King Julien won 3 out of 5 nominations.

AHKJ to the Daytime Emmy Awards in 4 More Days!

[25th April, 2018]

All Hail King Julien will be competing with a lot of other contenders in 5 categories for the 45th Daytime Emmy Awards, which shall be held in California on the 29th of April. With 7 nominations, including four which clashes between AHKJ and AHKJ: Exiled, All Hail King Julien is expected to return with a glorious victory, being the animation show with the most nominations this year.

AHKJ Gets 7 Daytime Emmy Awards Nominations!

[22nd March, 2018]

Congratulations to All Hail King Julien for the 7 Daytime Emmy Awards nominations! 4 of the nominations were for All Hail King Julien: Exiled, while the other three were for the main series. According to the AnimationMagazine.net, All Hail King Julien and its Exiled addendum came out on top of the Animated Program categories. All Hail King Julien was nominated in the categories Outstanding Special Class Animated Program (Exiled), Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program (Andy Richter, as Mort, Grammy Mort, and Smart Mort in Exiled), Outstanding Writing in an Animated Program, Outstanding Sound Mixing – Animation (both AHKJ and Exiled), and Outstanding Sound Editing – Animation (both AHKJ and Exiled). The Madagascar fans are all excited as this is one of the greatest point the fandom has ever reached in a long while; and hopes are high for a King Julien or Lemurs focused movie.

Madagascar Wiki Major Renovation Project FINISHED!!!

[1st February, 2018]

The Madagascar Wiki crew have worked together for three months to 'renovate' the Wiki to make it better than before. Although the Wiki has not reached its optimal state, but most of the outdated things have been fixed. The crew didn't have the time to make all big pages perfect, as planned before, but we hope to finish that in the Post-MWMRPDec17. The two biggest things which are introduced after the renovation project is the new legal system, as well as the rumour page system. The list of the laws can be found here. The first rumour page is the SkiJu page, written by fellow Madagascar fan, Jib, and edited by Brendan, our admin.

Now that the MWMRPDec17 is over, we shall move on to Post-MWMRPDec17, where we shall wrap up the whole renovation, starting from suggestions from all of you. We shall also be resetting some of the polls on Poll Corner, and updating them with new information, so be sure to suggest us new contents as we are fixing it. Meanwhile, we will also try our best to clean up the episode pages of All Hail King Julien, as well as the character pages of the main characters to make them more presentable and clean. We hope that the Post-MWMRPDec17 will run smoothly, and until next time!

New Features for the Wiki: This February!

[28th January, 2018]

After three months of hard work from the Madagascar Wiki crew, they are finally ready to finish the Madagascar Wiki Major Renovation December 2017'; and the project shall officially end on the 1st of February 2018. Other than the design and interface changes that had been introduced throughout the whole project, the Wiki will also be having at least two new features added. The first one is one of the most important one, as the Wiki will be having a new legal system. There will be a supreme law of the Wiki which shall be the Wiki Constitution, and there will be several Acts containing the rules and also punishments to any offences against the law. The other feature will be a Rumour Page system; and you will soon be able to write your posts on your favourite ships. The first Rumour Page shall be for the Skipper+Julien ship, or usually referred to as SkiJu, written by Jib from http://box-of-hooah.tumblr.com/ who suggested this feature to be added to the Wiki. But the project will not end here. There will be a following project called Post-MWMRPDec17, where we shall collect opinions and suggestions on a blog post and polls and improve from there. More information on this will be written in the next news update.

Happy 3rd Anniversary, All Hail King Julien!

[19th December, 2017]

19th December marks the anniversary of All Hail King Julien, which was released on 19th December 2014 with their first episode ever, King Me. Since then, we have been following King Julien all the way to their last season, where King Julien has reached his ultimate status, before we wrap up to continue to the movie. It has been 3 great years with King Julien, and we will never forget this brilliant show.
The Madagascar Wiki wishes All Hail King Julien a Happy Anniversary!

Update on Renovation Project

[16th December, 2017]

The Madagascar Wiki Major Renovation Project has been going on for more than two weeks, and a decent amount of improvements can be seen. Among them is the background, which now has the logos of the three main stories, Madagascar, The Penguins of Madagascar and All Hail King Julien; and it is also 1366x768 screen friendly, meaning that most laptops will be able to see the background fully and perfectly, as well as any computers with a high resolution. The format of the main page is also being fixed, as the old welcoming message has been revamped with a slider gallery, and also a cleaner look. The admins have also decided to break up from the two sister sites, the FANDOM Wiki and the Merchandise Wiki to make things better and cleaner, as they will be introducing a system for rumour articles in this Wiki. It is also said that there will be a better rules system, so that managing problematic users, edits, and pages will be easier. Some Poll Corner polls will be reset, as we will need to add new options, and also fix some existing options like the mistake we made in poll 7, where we accidentally wrote Zuba instead of Makunga. But the results of the old poll shall be kept for reference purposes if needed. More will come and there will be a lot of changes to not only the design, but also the system of the Wiki. Stay tuned for more information.

Season 5 Released! AHKJ Ended

[1st December, 2017]

1st December 2017 marks the end of All Hail King Julien; as the last season, Season 5, was released on Netflix. The season began with Episode 1, Julien 2.0, continuing from the events of All Hail King Julien: Exiled. The story came to an end at Episode 13 of the season, The End is Here, connecting the series to the movie Madagascar. Most fans cried at the end of the season, as the bittersweet ending sealed the series, with a beautiful end. What's next for the Madagascar franchise? Well we do not know yet; but there's always a possibility for a Madagascar 4, or an All Hail King Julien movie, however the crew want it to be.

Announcing WMR Dec2017! | Season 5 of AHKJ is 10 Days Away!

[21st November, 2017]

In preparation of the new year of 2018, and the greater future of Madagascar, Madagascar Wiki will be doing a major 'renovation' on the Wiki to improve the design and system, called the Wiki Major Renovation December 2017 (WMR Dec2017). The main focus of this renovation is the design of the wiki, which to The Team, can look even better and cleaner than what it looks like now. The renovation will begin fully on the month of December, and the preparation of the renovation has begun, with the help of our affiliate, the How to Train Your Dragon Wiki (go check them out, they have a really cool looking wiki).

The next news for today is about the final season of All Hail King Julien, the Season 5 which everyone had been waiting for. And yes, that's right; it is Season 5, and not Season 6 as we misreported before due to a lack of information. The fifth season of All Hail King Julien will be released in ten more days, and the fans are getting crazy about it. Despite the lack of screenshots or clips which they usually get before a season is released, they had been patiently waiting for the moment to come. So remember, don't miss the fifth and last season of All Hail King Julien, coming on the 1st of December 2017.

"AHKJ Season 6 - This December!

[31st October, 2017]

On the 30th of October, at 8:00PM (Madagascar Time/UTC +3:00), DreamWorks announced the release date of the sixth and last season of All Hail King Julien, which shall be on the 1st of December 2017. The announcement was a shock for everyone in the fandom, as most were expecting it to be released in 2018; and also because people will be shocked anyway when the release date is announced. The release date was announced together with a clip from Season 6 called The Curse of the Night Creature (the video is now featured in the featured content section), a clip about Clover telling King Julien a story about King Julien II. Any more information on Season 6 will be posted next month on Xixi's News.

"Dreamworks Universe of Legends" Released!

[27th October, 2017]

A new game from DreamWorks was recently internationally released on the Google Play App Store, and also the iOS App Store, featuring characters and features from more than 10 DreamWorks movies. This includes Madagascar's Alex, Marty, King Julien and more, and also Penguins of Madagascar's Skipper, and the 'island' Antarctica. The role-playing game developed by Firefly Games inc. was released at around 9:00PM (Madagascar Time/UTC +3:00) on the 26th of October 2017. The newly officially released game has gained over ten thousand downloads on the Google Play Store. Despite having some glitches and bugs, and some impurities here and there including unintentional geoblocks and also a problem where it resets one's account. But the community is patiently waiting for updates to come, and also hopefully new characters such as those from The Penguins of Madagascar and All Hail King Julien.

AHKJ Finale Announced

[8th September, 2017]

The Madagascar community, mostly All Hail King Julien fans were recently shocked by the confirmation of Season 6 of All Hail King Julien being the last season for the epic series. The series which we had been following for three years will finally come to an end when Season 6 is released. To most people, it is a saddening, but also a sweet news. Mitch Watson, the screenwriter of All Hail King Julien said that this will always be one of the best experiences of his career, when he posted an image of him with Danny Jacobs, Jeff Bennett, Andy Ritcher and Kevin Michael Richardson, from the last recording session. All Hail King Julien animator, Myke Sutherland said in an Instagram post that their "mammoth 3-year long journey of 'All Hail King Julien' has wrapped up into a seamless and perfect finale". The fans are all excited for the finale of All Hail King Julien, which is expected to be released either on the 8th or 15th of December 2017, or 13th of January 2018.

New Administrators

[25th July, 2017]

After our old Administrators, Deb1701 and Balistic Pve  was automatically kicked out of their position as the Admin of the Madagascar Wiki, the community held an election to vote for the new Admin for the Wiki. Three votes were casted within the seven days of voting, and it was decided that both AnnasElephants and Brendan Boman shall be the new Admins. Both of them were just promoted to Administrator earlier today. The main reason of the election was because a lot of things on the Wikia is outdated, especially the main page which lacks a lot of newer information and has plenty of things which aren't clean. The new Administrators are already starting to fix a lot of stuff and the Wiki should now run smoothly without much problem.
